Adding Approval Stages

Approval Stages are shared across all your team's accounts.

Summary

Whilst not essential, it is possible to add custom approval stages to reflect your organisation's decision making processes. Custom approval stages also provide another method by which your funding data can be filtered.

Choosing Approval Stages

The number and type of approval stages you use will depend entirely on your organisation's decision-making processes and the various individuals that will need to be consulted on whether an application for funding should be agreed.

Think carefully about steps you will be taking and how you may wish to group bids. Remember, approval stages can be updated and edited at any point, so you are not locked into your initial choices.

Adding Approval Stages

Approval stages can be added by selecting "Setup", clicking on "Approval Stages" and then clicking "Add".

When creating a new approval stage you can also specify whether the approval stage is active or not. Inactive approval stages will not be selectable when creating or editing funding records, nor can they be selected as a filter. This is useful when an approval stage is no longer required, but needs to be preserved for your records.

Editing Approval Stages

You can view all your existing approval stages by selecting "Setup", clicking on "Approval Stage". For each record you will see an "Edit" icon. Clicking on the icon will display the record editor.

Deleting Approval Stages

Note: As detailed above, you may wish to consider setting an existing approval stage as inactive rather than deleting it.

You can view all your existing policy areas by selecting "Setup", clicking on "Approval Stages". For each record you will see a "Delete" icon. Clicking on the icon will prompt you to confirm deletion.

Selecting Approval Stages

Once created, you can add a custom approval stage to any bid or agreement using the corresponding dropdown when editing the record.

Filtering by Approval Stage

When browsing your bids and agreements, you can use the in-built filter system to filter by approval stage, allowing you to easily group records together.
